My Very Own Darling,
I received two ordinary letters from you yesterday dated Sept. 15th and 20th. They were such long letters too Darling and so interesting.
I am pleased that there were several letters waiting for you when you arrived back from your trip. You know Darling, you have certainly got around since you left England. At times I feel really jealous! There will be such a lot for you to tell me when you arrive back home. I guess we shall not stop talking for days and nights!
I am pleased that you have managed to see “Mrs Miniver”. It is a good film, isn’t it? I have seen “Men of Boys Town” which I thought was quite good. In one of your letters you recall several of our shopping expeditions. Darling, when I am out shopping these days I long for you to be by my side for your approval – or otherwise. You know Dear, you said in your letter that there were not many things about which we did agree when we were out shopping but I can remember several things upon which we did agree, can you?
And now to tell you about a bit of shopping which I have done quite recently. I have bought a breakfast set in white Wedgewood china with blue sprigs of flowers on. I cannot describe it to you accurately but it is very pretty. I was so thrilled with it. I do hope that you like it. What a collection there will be for you to see when you come home.

Darling, three more letters arrived this morning from you and also the stockings. Thank you so much for them. They are just what I was wanting. The light coloured ones are beautiful. Better than one can buy here these days. You asked me to tell you how much they are worth. Well, as the light ones are fully fashioned they would be at least 9/11 if we could get them but it is impossible to get them as fine. I should say the others would be about 4/11. I must write and tell your Mother that they have arrived as she told me they were on the way when I last went home.
I hope that your photographs turn out alright and that you are able to get them. I am longing to receive one from you – if only to see if you have altered in the last nine months! I know, Darling, that we will not alter in our love for each other. Au Revoir. All my love, Grace xxxxx
P.S. Will write an
ordinary letter tonight.
