My Own Darling,
One week has passed since I received your last letter. It seems like many weeks.
I am longing to hear from you again Darling and to know how you are. I suppose I must be patient for a time. They say that “everything” comes to those that wait so “here's me waiting”!!
Kit and I have been in “hot water” recently. Or at least we have been cautioned by “the powers that be”. I suppose you will wonder what we have been up to. It is quite alright – don’t get worried – we have not done anything really bad. We missed our bus last night and had to catch one that brings us within four miles of this place. Consequently, we arrived here at 11 p.m. instead of 10 p.m. Actually it was my fault. Yes, I know you will say “I might have known.”
You see, I arranged to see Kit in Nottingham to catch the 9 p.m. bus. I managed to arrive just in time to catch the 9.20 p.m. bus. Kit was well in time to catch the first bus but I was late – as usual.
However, we went along to the office this morning and were let off with a caution.
Another incident of our evening off was that we had to render “First Aid to the injured.”
We were waiting for the bus to take us in to Nottingham along with a whole crowd of visitors when one woman decided to faint. How is it that I happen to be in on these things? Kit and I got busy and soon had her round again.
Do you remember a similar incident in a certain “Welfare Hall” on February 6th 1942?
And now my Dear I must stop scribbling and get on with my lecture or Sister Tutor might have us at the office when she puts in an appearance.

Time is very late Darling but I felt that I must finish this tonight as I shall not have time to-morrow. You see to-morrow is the day that we go into the G.H.N. for a lecture. We are on duty from 6.40 a.m. until 4 p.m. We are given 30 minutes in which to change and have our tea and have another 10 minutes in which to run for our bus, so you can see what a lot of spare time we have.
Thank goodness that it will be the last of our Ear, Nose and Throat lectures. We have finished our courses of doctors lectures then and the time between now and September is supposed to be spent in revision for our “Final”.
We received our one postal delivery to-day which, by the way is supposed to be a morning one, at 11.30 a.m. Another half an hour and it would have been an afternoon delivery.
There was a letter for me from home. They are very anxious about you Darling and are wanting to know if I have heard from you yet. They had no particular news for me.
As I am finding it terribly difficult to write this and prop myself up in bed I think that I had better say Goodnight, my Darling.
Ever yours, Precious.
