My Very Own Darling,
Once again I am a happy being!! Within two days I have had three air letters and one sea letter from you, so the long wait I was complaining about in my last letter has had its reward. Letters from you Darling are the best and most effective tonic I could wish for.
The air letters were the ones you wrote at Grimethorpe during your nights off & as you can well guess, Darling. They made me feel very nostalgic. To be at home with you once again is my one long dream, in fact it is an almost continuous dream. Just to be with you all alone nestling in each others arms & doing those little intimate things which we both found so thrilling when we were together is my most earnest wish.
I was glad that you liked you birthday presents, Dear. Only wish I could see what “I” bought for you & all the other thrilling things you are gathering together for my return (although I think I have read in some of you letters that there are certain things which I shall not be allowed to view until I am really all yours?) If your Mother is getting annoyed because you are taking up too much room, I shall have to write & see if I can placate her!!
Lets hope that she hasn’t to put up with our bits & pieces for too much longer, Darling, anyway.
The more I think of our life together when I return, the more convinced I am that there will be lots & lots of thrills and happiness in store for us. The more I think of it though the more dis-satisfied I get with our present existence.
How I yearn to hold you in my arms, Angel, & press my lips to yours & hold them there in the sheer delight of a kiss from the only girl I love – you!
Remember, my Darling, whatever happens before we come together again, you can always know that I am yours and yours only, just as I know that you belong to me. That is the happiest thought I have at present in this troubled life and the most important one. Without you now, Darling, life would hold no beauty.
Until next time. Au Revoir and all my love. Yours ever
