Hello again, my Darling,
As I didn’t get all your three letters answered last night, I’ve got sufficient topics to fill another air letter tonight, so – here goes!
I thought I had told you I was sending the “Parade” to you. Do you like it? If not I won’t bother sending it, but I thought it might be of interest. If you have got the first of the “Parade” you should by now of got my letter telling you all about my trip to Rome. They were posted about the same time as far as I can remember.
It seems rather early for Mother to have told you about your Christmas present, Darling, but then I don’t suppose it matters really when you get it, because you are old enough to realize that there’s no Santa Claus!
The only thing I feel sorry about is that I could not be with you when you were deciding what you wanted. However, I am so pleased that you managed to find something that you like. I am simply aching to get back to you so that I can see all the beautiful things that you are gathering together in readiness for our great adventure.
It is a very nice gesture, Darling, to have our initials engraved on them and upon the spoons. And if it means anything to you, I am not the slightest bit superstitious about such things as that. I know one thing, my precious, and that is that nothing can stop us in our determination to get married at the earliest possible moment. It is such a marvellous thing to have in view, isn’t it?
No Darling I haven’t seen the knives that my Grandmother gave Mother to give to us, but I was quite touched by her thought for us. It was typical of her, however. She was always thinking of others. I’m glad you like them.
You really made me blush, Dear, writing such nice things about me. I don’t deserve them actually. When a boy has such a grand girl as you waiting for him, its only natural that he thinks the world of her, as I do of you, my Precious. I wish you were close enough for me to be able to show you just how much you mean to me. Just imagine, Darling that I have taken you into my arms and – well you know how the rest of it goes, don’t you Darling? Think of one of those all too few delightful nights we have spent in each others arms and you have the answer.
I hope that you had a nice week-end at Askern, although I can’t imagine how you would manage it in a horrible place like that. I really think its worse than Grimethorpe – if that’s possible (although I would give a good few pounds to be there with you now!!). Give Kit my kind regards, Darling, will you please, and tell her I hope she’s not finding the job of being “Guardian Angel” too irksome!!
And while I am on the subject of good wishes, please pass a few round to your Mother and Dad & to Vera. You have not told me of late how Vera’s getting along.
There’s only one person to whom I send my love, though, Darling. Do you know her? Yes, you’ve guessed right – YOU!
Keep loving me Precious. Always your own Stan xxxxxxxxx
